Sea Freight — FCL & LCL Container Shipping

For large quantities, sea freight is the most cost-effective way to move goods. We arrange the entire forwarding process for both full container loads (FCL) and less than container loads (LCL).

FCL — Full Container Load

FCL (Full Container Load) means the entire container is reserved for your cargo only. It is suitable for larger quantities or for goods that require separate handling.

The container is not opened or repacked en route, which reduces risk, and the transit time is usually shorter than for LCL. We book the vessel space, arrange for the container to be delivered to the loading point, and monitor the shipment to its destination.

LCL — Less than Container Load

LCL (Less than Container Load) is suitable when you have less cargo than a full container. Your shipment is consolidated with goods from other shippers into a single container, and you only pay for the space your cargo occupies.

With LCL, time is required for consolidation and deconsolidation, so it's best to account for a slightly longer transit time. For smaller quantities, however, it is significantly more cost-effective than a full container or air freight.

Transit Time

Sea freight is the most affordable mode of transport, but also the slowest. The exact transit time depends on the port of origin, the shipping line's schedule, transhipments, and customs clearance — the same route can vary by several weeks on different lines.

This is why we do not promise general transit times. For each specific enquiry, we provide an estimate based on the particular shipping line and route.

Container shipping anywhere to anywhere

We arrange container shipping from any origin to any destination — both imports to and exports from Estonia.

We select the container type based on your cargo: standard, high-cube, refrigerated, or open-top. We will advise you on which type is suitable and how much it can realistically hold.

When selecting a route, we consider the price, transit time, and reliability. The cheapest shipping line is not always the best option if it means your cargo might be delayed during transhipment.

What We Arrange

Frequently asked questions

Which is more affordable — FCL or LCL?

For small quantities, LCL is more affordable. For larger quantities, FCL usually becomes more cost-effective and also faster. The exact point where this changes depends on current market rates — we will calculate both options and advise which is better for your shipment.

Can you also arrange door-to-door transport?

Yes. We arrange the collection of goods from the loading point, the sea freight, customs clearance, and delivery to the final destination. You will have a single point of contact throughout the entire process.

What documents are needed for sea freight?

Usually, you will need a commercial invoice, a packing list, a Bill of Lading (B/L), and an EORI number. Depending on the goods and the country, a certificate of origin or special permits may also be required. We will review the necessary documents with you.
