Frequently Asked Questions

Good to Know Before Shipping

What is the difference between FCL and LCL shipping?

FCL (Full Container Load) means the entire container is dedicated to your cargo. LCL (Less than Container Load) is suitable for smaller shipments—your goods are consolidated with cargo from other shippers into a single container, and you only pay for the volume you use. The choice depends primarily on the cargo volume and timeframe.

How long does freight transport from Asia to Estonia take?

Air freight is the fastest and sea freight is the most economical, with rail freight falling in between. The exact transit time depends on the point of origin, shipping schedules, transshipments, and customs clearance. Therefore, we do not promise a general delivery time—we provide a specific estimate for each inquiry.

What documents are required for customs clearance?

The standard required documents are an EORI number, commercial invoice, packing list, and a transport document (Bill of Lading, CMR, or Air Waybill). Depending on the shipment, a transit declaration (T1), export declaration, or a certificate of origin (e.g., EUR.1, A.TR) may also be necessary. We will review and help you prepare all the required documentation.

What is freight forwarding and how does it differ from a carrier?

A carrier performs the physical transport. A freight forwarder arranges the entire chain: selecting the most suitable mode of transport and route, booking the shipment, arranging customs clearance and documentation, and monitoring the entire process. You communicate with a single point of contact, not with five different companies.

Do you also arrange air and rail freight?

Yes. Air freight is suitable for time-critical and valuable shipments, while rail freight offers a good balance between speed and cost, particularly on Asian routes. For large volumes, sea freight remains the most cost-effective option. Often, the best solution is multimodal—a combination of different transport modes.

Do you offer warehousing and cargo handling services?

Yes. We arrange both short-term and long-term warehousing and provide a full range of cargo handling services, including goods receiving, order picking, repacking, and dispatch. We can also provide bonded warehousing solutions if needed.

Do you also handle oversized or unconventional cargo?

Oversized and project cargo is not our primary line of business, but we review each case individually. This type of transport requires preliminary route analysis, permits, and often special equipment—we will tell you honestly whether and how we can assist.

How can I request a quote and how quickly will you respond?

Submit an inquiry via the form or give us a call. Describe your cargo (dimensions, weight, quantity), origin and destination, and the desired timeframe. We generally respond within one business day. An inquiry is not a binding order—it is a request for a quote.
