Customs clearance is where shipments most often get stuck. We prepare and submit the necessary declarations and review all documents beforehand. You can book our customs clearance services together with freight forwarding or as a standalone service.
When bringing goods into the EU from outside, an import declaration must be submitted and any customs duties and VAT must be paid. We help you determine the correct commodity code (TARIC) for your goods, calculate the estimated taxes, and submit the declaration.
We double-check the code before submission, as an incorrect code can result in the over- or underpayment of taxes.
When moving goods out of the European Union, we prepare an export declaration. This is required both to prove the zero VAT rate for your accounting and for customs clearance in the destination country.
If needed, we can also arrange for certificates of origin — EUR.1 or A.TR — which may reduce or eliminate customs duties in the destination country.
EORI is a unique identifier for businesses in customs operations throughout the European Union. You cannot import or export without it. The number is applied for once and remains valid. We can help you with the application.
If the documents are in order and submitted on time, clearance is usually quick. We cannot promise an exact timeframe, as customs may select the goods for inspection. Delays are almost always caused by incomplete or incorrect documents — which is why we review them for you beforehand.
